REWILDING WITH PERENNIALS

Good Wheel is being filled with trees and shrubs because we are on a journey to encourage long-term soil health and ecosystem resilience. We live in Appalachia. This place wants to grow trees, shrubs, and vines and create fungal networks underfoot. Our eggs and our meat are just the dangling carrots, the fundraisers, for a bigger play at wilding spaces. And our animals will be better for it. While what we have planted is only the half of it and emerging perennial plants are everywhere, here is a list of the plants we have planted into pasture:

Hazelnuts, Persimmon Honey Locust, Paw Paw, Aronia Berry, Chestnut, Mulberry, Chinkapin, Apple, Juneberry, Grape, Hawthorn, Willow, Spicebush, Cup Plant, Elderberry
